Days of Awe

"Days of Awe" - 9/12/10

everything has a season
and it is inevitable
that if you pull off the leaves
before autumn
you will get
your heart broken

I have never believed in karma
I've seen too many menshes suffer
while the shlemiels won the prize
but if there is such a thing

I am willing to concede
that I deserve the short end
of this branch oh the wailing
that will begin once the
dust settles and loneliness
sets in

I leapt toward the light
like a firefly blinded by
reckless abandon and
careful meditation
colluding together like
Yoko and Lennon

love-hate
genius-fate
an inevitable chaos
the beautiful kind
brillant while it's burning

piercing in rewind
